Finnish Lions is one of Europe’s oldest PlayStation online gaming clans, and the oldest PlayStation-clan in Finland.

The roots of FL are in March -03, when our leader and founder of the clan, Hirski, was playing with three other co-founders Gore, TMP and Janus during the Socom 1 alpha-tests.When the game was in beta-phase in May, a wise warrior Hirski thought that you can’t win the war by yourself, so a clan must be created.

The name of the clan wasn’t easy to come up with, and it was given a lot of thought. After painful brainstorming, they decided that the name should include something patriotic. Finnish Lions raised it’s head, and roared for the first time.
From a mutual decision, they decided to recruit only players that are older than 18 years old and of course, from Finland. The first player that was recruited from outside was Pako.

In the beginning, recruiting started a bit slow, but when online gaming started becoming more and more popular, more players found themself in Finnish Lions. We were the first Finnish clan to play in ESL (European Socom League). The first match was against a clan called Shinobi. With great tactics and superior strategy, FL became the winner of that intense match.

When we got more players, there have been many other games that we have played together besides Socom.For example Twisted Metal Black, Everquest: Online Adventures, Battlefield2: Modern Combat, Syphon Filter: Omega Strain and Monster Hunter have been in favour and use. There have been only few changes in our roster. Many of us have come here to stay; only a handful of players have left the clan.

Our main goal is to get players who stay, and players who are fun to play with. In the future you’ll probably see a lot of us playing different games online and always under the same banner.
